Recently, when we had some salmon on hand, we decided to make creamy salmon soup inspired by Finnish salmon soup. And we ended up creating this wonderful salmon chowder recipe. So, if you’re looking for an easy creamy salmon soup recipe, we’re happy to share. This soup is very comforting and tasty, especially on cold dark autumn and winter days. It’s so quick and easy to make - from start to finish, you’ll only need about 30 minutes to have a bowl of this delicious hot chowder ready on your table. It feels very light and filling due to the creamy tasty sauce. When it’s cooking and steaming, you can feel the aroma of bay leaves, mixed peppers, sour cream, the root vegetables and the salmon filled with tender flavours.
How can you adjust this recipe based on your preferences?
1. You can tweak this recipe easily and make it keto friendly by using low-carb, keto flour in the sauce.
2. You can also make this chowder dairy free, just add coconut milk instead of sour cream.
3. You can opt for any red-fleshed fish, like tuna, for instance.

Ingredients:
350 g / 0.77 lbs of potatoes
150 g / 0.33 lbs of carrots
1.3 litres / 43.95 oz of water
2 bay leaves
1 onion
4 whole black pepper granules
300 g / 0.66 lbs of salmon
Salt (to taste)
Mixed peppers (to taste)
2 tbsp of tomato paste
200 ml / 6.76 oz of milk
100 ml / 3.38 oz of sour cream
2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
Dill weed (you can use fresh dill or other herbs)
You’ll make around 4 serving sizes from these ingredients.
