Paneer butter masala is one of the most popular paneer recipes.
It is an irresistible creamy, rich, mildly sweet gravy that can be served with any Indian bread.
Follow the recipe to make this best vegetarian dish.

Ingredients required:
For masala paste:
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cloves - 5
Cardamom - 2 pods
Onion (sliced) - 2
Garlic - 2 cloves
Ginger - 1-inch
Tomato (sliced) - 3
Cashew - 15

For the curry:
Oil - 2 tbsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
Bay leaf - 1
Green chilli - 1
Onion (finely chopped) - 1
Turmeric - ½ tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - ¾ tsp
Cumin powder - ¼ tsp
Garam masala - ½ tsp
Salt as per taste
Water - 1 cup
Cream - 2 tbsp
Paneer - 16 cubes
Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
Coriander - 2 tbsp

How to make paneer butter masala:
1. To make the masala paste, heat a pan, add oil, ginger, garlic, cloves and cardamom, and saute for half a minute.
2. Add sliced onion and cook till onions are translucent. Add tomatoes, and mix them well. Cover and cook till tomatoes turn mushy and soft.
3. Add cashews and cook for a minute on low flame. Cool the mixture and transfer it to a blending jar.
4. Blend it well to make a smooth, creamy paste and keep it aside.
5. To make the gravy, heat a pan, and add oil and butter in equal quantities.
6. Add bay leaf, green chilli and chopped onion, and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
7. Add turmeric, coriander, cumin, chilli and garam masala powder; mix and cook the spices.
8. Add the blended paste and cook. Add some water to the paste and cook till it simmers.
9. Add the paneer cubes and cook for a minute on low heat.
10. Add Kasuri methi and fresh cream and mix it well.
11. Garnish with some more fresh cream and coriander.
