How to assemble a Poke bowl at home

Poke bowl assembly

Originally from Hawaii and now made popular all over the world. This dish is made with fresh ingredients, it’s very healthy for you and it packs a punch of flavour.

The list of ingredients below is just a suggestion. These bowls are a blank canvas for tons of your favourite flavours. Be creative!

The key is to use very fresh ingredients and assemble the bowls just before you eat, for maximum freshness. Whatever fish or seafood you use, make sure to buy the best and freshest you can find. Your local fishmonger is your best option. Grocery store fish isn’t usually sushi grade. We visited our friends at @offthehookfishmarket for the freshest tuna.

Assembly of our dish in this order:
Kale (cut into thin slices) placed on the bottom of the dish. Going around the dish… brown rice, cucumber cut into half wheels, avocado cubes, carrots finely julienned, marinated yellowfin tuna cubed (sushi grade), edamame and roasted red pepper slices. Top with a generous squirt of fresh lime juice, black sesame seeds, mayo sriracha and finely chopped green onions.

The fish marinate:
1/4 cup quality soy sauce
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp rice vinegar

Sriracha mayo (I made a large portion for future use):
1/2 cup of your favorite mayo. We use Hellman’s with olive oil
3 tbsp sriracha
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
