Today I made some wonderful chicken shashlik sticks. Shashlik has been a hugely popular picnic food across Central Asia for thousands of years (alternatively known as shish kebab). It simply consists of marinated Chicken or Meat grilled over hot coals (or on a Grill). Do try and let me know how it turned out for you. I am sure you will enjoy this wonderful recipe. - Crushed Ginger & Garlic paste (1 tbsp)
- Salt (1 tsp or according your taste)
- Crushed Coriander (1 tsp)
- Lemon Juice (2 tbsp)
- Chilli Garlic Sauce (1 tbsp)
- Black pepper powder (1 tsp)
- Red Chilli powder (1 tbsp)
- Soya sauce (1.5 tbsp)
- Chicken boneless cubes (1/2kg)
- Oil (2 tbsp)
- Bell pepper cubes (2 medium size)
- Onion (2 medium size)

- Add chicken and 1 tbsp of crushed ginger & garlic (or paste) in a bowl.
- Salt (1 tsp or according to your taste), crushed coriander (1 tsp), lemon juice (2 tsp), chilli garlic sauce (1 tsp), black pepper powder (1 tsp), red chilli powder (1 tsp), soya sauce (1.5 tsp) and mix well.
- Marinate for an hour.
- Cut the bell peppers and onion in cubes.
- Assemble the chicken and veggies in a shashlik stick.
- On a plate brush 2-3 tablespoons of oil and place your sticks. Keep turning both sides to spread them with oil.
- Grill them on a frying pan or on grill pan:
- Take 2-3 tablespoons of oil and spread them on a pan. Let the oil warm up and place your sticks. Keep turning the sides so that all the sides cook evenly.

NOTE: Shashlik sticks can also be baked. For this, preheat oven at 180 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes.
